A two-and-a-half year dental hygiene/therapy diploma program is available through King's College London, the largest dental school in the United Kingdom. The college is one of 20 in the University of London system. A two-year course in dental nursing, a 27-month dental hygiene/ therapy program and a one-year, part-time program in oral health education for practicing dental nurses, hygienists and therapists (classes held on Saturdays) are part of the dental training offered at Barts and The London Queen Mary University of London, School of Medicine and Dentistry, part of the University of London system. Another option for those seeking to become dentists or more advanced dental professions is available through UCL Eastman Dental Institute. The school offers three clinical divisions in craniofacial & developmental sciences; maxillofacial, diagnostic & surgical sciences; and restorative dental sciences.
